Tensar BX Geogrids

Tensar BX^® geogrids significantly limit or prevent both rotational and translational movements of aggregates subjected to dynamic loads such as in roads, parking lots and intermodal yards. With little or no movement allowed, aggregate shear strength and load distribution performance capabilities improve. When reinforced with BX geogrids, supporting aggregate structures will perform longer, use less aggregate, require less cut-and-fill operations and produce lower service life costs.

The benefits of using Tensar BX geogrids apply to structures constructed over both weak and competent subgrades. When weak subgrades are encountered, BX geogrids enable densification of aggregates immediately above poor soils, reducing required aggregate thickness and associated undercutting or select fill costs. For competent subgrades, BX geogrids improve performance characteristics within a given aggregate layer thickness, thereby extending structure performance. Conversely, the improved aggregate characteristics enable lower layer thicknesses to achieve comparable performance. In short, Tensar BX geogrids facilitate lower cost road, parking and intermodal yard structures.
