Reducing grades via the use of soil retaining structures is an important BMP alternative. Traditionally, soil retaining structures represented 'hard fascia' landscape elements. Concrete, timbers and modular blocks produce massive features with strong visual impacts. Price & Company offers two wall fascia systems which provide a soft, vegetated appearance. In essence, these systems enable soil retaining structures to retreat into the background, enabling other landscape features to dominate the visual motif. In addition, both the Geoweb® and Strata wire basket systems enable relatively high flexibility in adjusting to subgrade movements and ground water conditions - a critical issues for a number of applicatons.
