Geoweb - Load Support
- Topic Index
- Packaging & Pricing
Geoweb laterally confines coarse-grain soil infills, significantly increasing the soil’s apparent shear strength. In so doing, point and line loads are distributed quickly, resulting in lower stress imposition to underlying soils without thick aggregate layers. The combination of Geoweb and its infill provides semi-rigid foundations to enable economic construction of structures over weak and/or compressible subgr
ades.
The ability to create a stiff platform with minimum thickness using sand and gravel infills offers solutions to a wide range of unique applications from utility support over organic soils to road widening when subsoil types vary radically. Geoweb also addresses extreme load support when poor-quality subsoils or high ground water tables are present , e.g., derrick support in intermodal yards or track support over saturated subsoils. The ability of Geoweb to confine highly porous infills creates an ideal combination for load support in areas where low electrical conductivity is required for operation safety, e.g., substations and industrial yards. When static or dynamic loads must be attenuated using minimum thickness systems, Geoweb cellular confinement offers economical performance.
